The 2010 Belly Dance Nationals Competition

Because the East Coast has fabulous mega-metropolitan cities such as New York City, Miami, and Washington, D.C., the organizers of the BDNC (who are city girls themselves!) saw a need to have a large scale competition right in their own backyard...on the East Coast.

Welcome to the Belly Dance Nationals Competition!

With the blessing of Alexandra Ahnide, founder of the previous Jewel of the Nile which upgraded to the BDNC, we kept her traditions and went upscale. You, our honored guests have also spoken, providing enormous feedback, and tips about what you want in a competition. Enjoy our wonderful hospitality, our East Coast charm and our attention to detail. We run things a little differently than other competitions as we focus on not just the technique, but the entertainment and professional value of the competitor.

We have heard you and have implemented your suggestions, such as relevant competition workshops, current instructors, flexible, and tips on competing, make-up, and technique. We have added these changes to the "Wish List" for our event and would like more of your suggestions for future events. 

Our most popular, most talked about feature is the Private, One-on-One Lessons with our featured instructors. In these sessions, you are critiqued and have the opportunity to re-develop your dance foundation and gain new ideas for improvement.

We are happy to bring you the largest East Coast Middle Eastern Dance competition in the heart of Baltimore and Washington, D.C.!
